Basement Guest Suite
In the Scott Brothers’ San Francisco showdown on Brother vs. Brother, Drew sets the bar high with a modern basement guest suite. This revamped space creatively incorporates a bedroom, living room, bathroom, kitchen and laundry area. During the renovation, the basement received its own entry to add incremental value to the property, and to separate the new suite from the upstairs living space in the home. The family can also now use the basement as a rentable studio apartment.
A Basement Fireplace Feature
A stone-veneer gas fireplace is the main focal point in this Love It or List It basement remodel. The cozy room incorporates a large sectional couch and a TV area, updated overhead lighting and new floors, which were lowered during the renovation to provide the homeowners with more headroom.
Small Bar in a Contemporary Lounge
Incorporate a small bar into your next remodel and make the ultimate bonus room for relaxing and entertaining. Buying & Selling hosts Drew and Jonathan Scott demonstrate how it's done in this living space, styled with a reclaimed industrial coffee table, other colorful accessories and comfortable seating.
Colorful Family-Friendly Basement
The designers on Love It or List It created a bright and colorful finished basement that incorporates plenty of storage and comfortable furniture. A pair of desks makes it a perfect space for children who need to focus when participating in virtual learning and doing homework, or when they need space to spread out for arts and crafts.
Contemporary Attic Bonus Room
Good Bones hosts Mina and Karen show off a redesigned attic in an old home. The new space serves as a bonus living space that incorporates plenty of seating for the family to play. A skylight and the vintage style window let plenty of light into the space.
Modern Boho With Vintage Accents
A remodeled basement done by the Property Brothers gives a family with two daughters more room to showcase their creativity. A custom mural makes this space most unique, while durable, sealed-concrete floors add function. The space is outfitted with a well-curated mix of boho, modern and vintage pieces including retro-style purple and orange chairs, a patchwork rug and an antique drafting easel.
A Makers' Studio
Colorful floral wallpaper and functional built-in storage check all the boxes in this Love It or List It basement remodel. The dual workstations provide plenty of space for the family to craft and create to their heart's content.
Kitchenette and Living Space Combo
On Property Brothers, the design team makes the most of a basement by remodeling it into a functional, relaxing living space with an adjacent kitchenette. White walls brighten the space, a gas fireplace adds ambience, and colorful art and accents make it feel comfortable and liveable.
Cozy Basement Family Room and Jam Space
A large, deep-seated sectional sets the tone in a family's basement entertainment room. As seen on Love It or List It, this lower-level living area is the perfect place for a family to hang out, rock out or settle in and watch movies on a rainy day.
Eclectic Bonus Room with Purple Shiplap
A bonus room on Good Bones is transformed to lend space for fun and play. Built-in seating provides room for lounging (or a good nap). Purple shiplap walls add character, and bohemian accents including leather poufs and a natural wood tiered coffee table make this redesigned room a memorable one.
Midcentury Mod Basement
Bright blue accents add a special appeal to this basement kitchenette and dining space from Love It or List It. Navy blue midcentury dining chairs around a game table coordinate nicely with the aquamarine-colored barstools. Side-by-side shelving units provide extra storage and space for displaying collectibles.
Southwestern Basement Bedroom
Drew's basement bedroom from Brother Vs. Brother is decked out in a soft, earthy color palette, fun artwork and Southwest-inspired design accents. This contemporary space is anchored with wood flooring and brightly lit from above with recessed ceiling lights. A built-in dresser and shelves in the closet offer plenty of storage.
A Creative, Kid-Friendly Basement Family Room
This basement from Love It or List It is kid-friendly and full of character. Its redesign incorporates contrasting paint colors, including black chalk paint to highlight certain architectural details. The chalk paint adds whimsy throughout and is even repeated on the doors of the utility closet giving the kids who live here lots of space to play and express their creativity.
Wall Accent in a Basement Bonus Room
On Property Brothers, the design team incorporated a teal accent wall and sconces to help define an inset area of the basement's architecture. Modern seating and built-in shelving make this family room a space that's easy to enjoy.
A Contemporary Attic Bonus Room
This attic renovation from Good Bones makes the most of the peaked ceiling and leverages its potential with creative lighting sources. The bonus room was designed to include a desk by the window to help make working from home a pleasant experience.
